FAQ Do metal objects affect Zettlex sensors?
Metal objects outside the Sensor's Near Field have practically no affect on the Sensor. However, metal objects within the Near Field tend to distort the magnetic pattern.
Again, as with magnets these can be accommodated in the design of the Antenna. Distortion effects are minimized if the metal objects are symmetrical e.g. a metal shaft through the centre of the sensor.
