Technology LD Series
Zettlex LD (Low Displacement) Series sensors are used for non-contact, absolute displacement measurement over small distances – typically <1mm and often <0,1mm.
Customers use Zettlex LD sensors as a robust, non-contact, cost effective alternative to strain gauges or piezo based sensors.
Applications are in 2 main groups:
- touch sensors for user interfaces in harsh environments
- weight, pressure, vibration or wear sensors.
For example, LD series sensors can be used as a lower cost alternative to short throw LVDT's in quality control applications.
Like other forms of Zettlex sensor the Electronics Module can be displaced away from the sensor. Furthermore, a centralised Electronics Module can control several sensors.
