Compagnie Press Zettlex announces new Ensolver range
27 June 2008
Zettlex has announced that it will enter the motor resolver market with a new range of products called Ensolver.
Zettlex Ensolvers are non-contacting, absolute, angle and speed measuring devices. Ensolvers measure the angle of a rotating Target relative to a stationary Antenna using a unique radio frequency [RF] technique. The Target has no electrical connections and is typically spaced a few millimetres away from the Antenna. Targets & Antennae are made from printed circuits.
No contacts, no bearings, no fine wires..…just accurate measurements all day, every day.
Ensolvers can be thought of as a cross between a resolver and an encoder - with the advantages of both but the disadvantages of neither.
- Proven technology – solid track record using resolver style principles
- Non-contact – for high reliability & long life
- Stable & repeatable – ensures accuracy in all conditions
- Simple assembly – no need for precision fitting or alignment
- Robust – even in harsh environments. Note that Ensolvers do not use fine wires and are unaffected by dirt or liquids
- No bearings – for low friction & high reliability
- Compact - low profile & lightweight
- Annular – slip rings or shafts can pass through if required
- Non-ITAR restricted
- High speed – Ensolvers can be used for motor speed & position control
- Readily customized - to suit specific requirements.
Control electronics can be provided onboard the Antenna or away from the sensing area in more benign environments.
